Working across Canberra (ACT) and The Blue Mountains (NSW), the team at Heartstory works to capture every family’s story in a way that feels authentic to them. From adventurous outdoor shoots to intimate studio experiences, every client’s vision is achievable and perfectly primed to become beloved wall-art that is printed in-house.

The award winning studio felt that they had outgrown their original branding and needed visuals that better conveyed their expertise and unmatched quality. It was essential that all brand elements created in the rebrand worked to amplify and support the photography rather than draw focus or overwhelm it.

An authentic Australiana aesthetic with a mid-century twist was the core inspiration for the brand identity to best compliment client photography. A magpie was chosen as the brand icon due to its playful and inquisitive personality; the black and white bird requiring a dark and light version to ensure recognition on every possible background colour. Inspired by patterns of moving water, bark and rock formations, a large suite of supporting textures, illustrations and icons were created to bring texture and authenticity to non-photographic visuals. Detailed and adaptable, these elements work alongside vibrant outdoors shoots (of all seasons and aesthetics) as well as more minimal newborn and maternity indoor shoots. Botanicals inspired by Canberra native flowers were designed to embellish layouts and to also frame the library of textures and textural photography.
