Sonture is a soap and personal care brand that champions natural skincare as part of an everyday routine. Inspired by exotic travel locations and the practices of generations past, the products blend colourful and innovative fragrances with sophisticated inspiration.
Previously trading under a different business name, the old brand identity felt generic and didn’t communicate the care and passion founder Mahalia put into her products. While the business was very successful on Etsy, less sales were happening on Shopify and the DIY visuals were a barrier for wholesale stockists, collaborations and media attention.
To celebrate the inspiration of travel in the brand, the primary visual element is high-end brand photography and curated stock imagery. All of the other brand elements subtly support this; the minimalist logo style, sophisticated supporting typography and subtle neutral colour palette. Personality was introduced by custom brand illustration and supporting brand marks that are inspired by vintage postage stamps. Packaging designs are hyper minimal (so as to let the photography and products shine) with the accompanying Shopify site designed to highlight the brand storytelling.
